Battle Management Operator (BMO) Block 2 Practice Test

Air Support Operations Center coordinates air power in support of ground operations, and it relies on the right ground partners to plan and execute that support effectively. The division’s operations staff and the Tactical Air Control Party are the two groups that naturally integrate with the ASOC to shape and deliver airpower on the battlefield.

The Army division staff brings the division’s intent, priorities, and maneuver plan to the ASOC. They translate the ground scheme of maneuver into air tasking requirements, help set priorities for which targets to strike, and synchronize air tasks with the division’s overall tempo. In short, they ensure the air support aligns with the larger plan and that timing, deconfliction, and resource allocation support the front-line units.

TACP teams, working on the ground with maneuver units, provide direct on-scene control and liaison for air support. They identify targets, relay requests and updates to the ASOC, and ensure the right aircraft deliver the right effect in the right place at the right time. Their close, on-the-ground integration is essential for turning ground intent into precise air strikes.

The other choices describe systems or higher-level organizations rather than groups that directly integrate with the ASOC to contribute to day-to-day operations: JAGIC is a joint coordination facility at a higher level, and SKL and SIPRNET are equipment or networks for cryptographic data and communications rather than groups that continuously participate in operational air-ground coordination.
